2010: YEAR IN REVIEW
An Average Week in the Life of the Glenwood City Public Library:
- 276 people visited the library
- 80 visitors used a public access computer
- 2.4 visitors applied for a new library card
- 18 people attended a library program
- 645 items were checked out (up from 605)
- 427 interlibrary loan items (incoming/outgoing) were processed for shipment, up from 365
Library's Top Five List:
- Circulation was up 6.6%, with books representing 62.7% of iems checked out!
- Summer reading program participation by children, ages 3 - 12, was sustained at a higher level throughout the summer than in past years!
- Attendance at the December Holiday Fun with Santa and ornament making set a new record!
- A technology upgrade to replace four public access computers was completed and two laptop computers were added to meet increased customer demand after school and work.
- A community task force met over six months to assess the community's needs for library services and to match library services to fulfill those neends. The library board is continuing its long-range planning efforts and is making great progress in developing action steps that will lead to better-than-ever services!
